In November 2021, Realstone SA implemented an innovative geothermal solution in Lausanne, Switzerland, integrating the enerdrape system, which uses geothermal panels in the underground parking lot of a residential complex with 200 spaces. This cleantech solution enhances energy efficiency by utilizing thermal energy from the basement, reducing reliance on conventional heating systems, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative exemplifies Realstone SA’s dedication to sustainable development, showcasing how urban residential complexes can adopt green technology to promote energy resilience and lessen environmental impact, setting a model for a greener future.

Impact & Result

The enerdrape system under consideration is designed to harness thermal power outputs of up to 170 W/m². This capability underscores its efficiency in utilizing geothermal energy to meet heating and cooling demands, making it a promising solution for sustainable energy applications in urban environments.
