De Watergroep
Schaarbeek
Founded in the Netherlands with expertise in ultra-filter membranes, originally developed for hospitals to remove bacteria, viruses, and legionella, Drop2Drink created its first unit to produce potable water from rainwater. Guided by the vision of making clean water accessible to all and building climate resilience, the company transforms rainwater from a burden into a resource, enabling up to 100% savings on municipal water.
This vision became reality for a farmer in Belgium through a collaboration with Drop2Drink and the local water authority, De Watergroep. Facing the challenge of 40,000 homes in Flanders without mains water, De Watergroep launched a tender for decentralised potable water solutions. Drop2Drink’s unit was selected as the most cost-effective, safe, and user-friendly option. Today, the farmer and his family live fully off-grid for water, relying on rain filtered by the Drop2Drink unit to meet all their daily needs.
Enables buildings to become water-neutral, supplying up to 100% of their drinking water needs from rainwater. Eliminates 100% of plastic bottle use for drinking water where installed, significantly lowering plastic pollution. Cuts emissions by up to 20% through reduced water transport, treatment, and bottled water production. In countries like Germany, harvesting just ~2% of annual rainfall could meet all domestic water consumption needs.
The Drop2Drink Unit is a decentralized water filtration system primarily used domestically (but also suitable for SME's). The Unit is designed to combat the increasing global water scarcity. The Drop2Drink unit has been certified by the World Health Organisation and has been tested by local and international drinking water companies. The unit delivers water on demand. Rainwater is collected in a rainwater storage tank or sack. Whenever a user opens a tap point the water is pumped through the Drop2Drink Unit. The water first passes a microfilter, an activated carbon filter, an ultrafilter and as a backup a UVC-Unit. The system can be monitored constantly (highly recommended option). We guarantee 100% microbiologically safe drinking water and aim to provide access to safe water for everyone. The Drop2Drink unit is flexible, plug&play, durable, economical and consistent. As D2D Water Solutions, we are committed to giving back to society and providing a solution to water scarcity.
