Description

Lolaliza, a Belgian fashion brand in Bruxelles, initiated a cleantech project to improve energy efficiency in its retail outlets. Partnering with Memoco, they implemented the EnergyBox solution in 31 shops from September 2020 to April 2021. This system managed energy use by controlling HVAC systems and lighting based on store hours and alarm deactivations. The initiative aimed to reduce energy waste, operational costs, and environmental impact. The successful deployment led to significant energy savings, enhanced Lolaliza's sustainability profile, and showcased the potential for integrating smart energy solutions in retail..

Impact & Result

- Decreased electricity consumption by 17% across 31 shops.
- Saved 66 tons of CO2 annually as a result of reduced energy use.

Solution Spotlight

The goal of the EnergyBox is to reduce the energy consumption of retail shops. It will do so by: (1) controlling the lights based on the opening hours of the shop, (2) controlling the HVAC system to reduce its consumption, and (3) monitoring the consumption of the shop and giving feedback to the owner.
