Fontaineo, a drinking water fountain business, called upon Droople to equip a still and sparkling water outdoor fountain with their Water Intelligence Platform in order to monitor it, predict its maintenance and showcase single use plastic bottle savings. Dating from June 14, 2022, this implementation is the result of a collaboration with Urbanat Sarl and the Industrial Services of Geneva. Through this implementation, the latter aims to reduce plastic bottle consumption and help its citizens to stay hydrated during heat waves.
Citizens are encouraged to reduce their reliance on single-use plastic bottles, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment. By integrating efficient monitoring systems and predictive maintenance strategies, they have successfully achieved a 25% reduction in operational expenses (OPEX). These improvements have also extended asset lifespans by 10%, minimizing the need for frequent replacements and significantly cutting associated costs.
Today, more than 100 billion water assets remain offline, leaving vendors and operators blind to their performance (uptime, downtime, output, frequency of use, flow time, etc.), maintenance needs, and consumable replenishment. This lack of visibility leads to inefficiencies such as unplanned maintenance (30%), energy waste (20%), and financial impairment from water damage (over CHF 30 billion worldwide annually). Droople offers a full-stack IoT platform that combines patented edge devices (Droople iLink®), machine learning algorithms, and a modular platform. This system enables real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and automated consumable procurement. Droople retrofits existing water endpoints with sensors, providing valuable data on usage, performance, and maintenance needs. This unique approach, summarised as "Understand, Value, Manage," empowers stakeholders to reduce operational costs, extend asset lifetimes, and drive water-energy savings.
