Petroleum Development Oman (PDO)
Muscat
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the national oil company for Oman, partnered with the French startup “Spare Parts 3D”, to assess the 3D printability of 150,000 spare parts. PDO now has an agile decision-making tool to enable its 3D printing deployment roadmap, speeding up Additive Manufacturing (AM) deployment by an estimated two years. “The ability to provide valorization on AM potential is a first in Oman and of great support to accelerate In-Country Value initiatives and build our Industry 4.0 ecosystem in the Sultanate” - Sulaiman Ruqaishi – PDO In-Country Value Business Development Lead
Head of AM confirmed we helped PDO to fast track their digitization program by 2 years. All environmental impacts are therefore fast-tracked by 2 years. Quantified value belongs to PDO and cannot disclosed by SP3D.
Our fundamental issue was to logically and quickly screen and identify 3D printing candidates to define PDO AM scope and move forward. With the support of our partner SP3D PDO is now able to make informed decisions, accelerate deployment and support stakeholders.
Philippe Dupont, Head of Material Procurement & Inventory Management, PDO
DigiPART is a cutting-edge software engine designed to identify and digitize spare parts for additive manufacturing. It evaluates the attractiveness and feasibility of parts for on-demand manufacturing, significantly reducing the cost of digitization by preparing digital passports, which enable ready-to-produce parts using 3D printing. A key breakthrough innovation of this solution is the automated 2D to 3D reconstruction, which streamlines the process and enhances efficiency in creating digital and physical models of spare parts.
