story image

Description

The RATP group offers public transport solutions that have a lower carbon impact than individual transport. Today, this mode of transport involves more and more digital interaction, through the use of websites to buy tickets, consult information or for internal company purposes.
In order to assess and reduce the impact of these digital platforms, the RATP Group has tested the use of the Greenoco solution to assess and reduce the impact of several websites.
After analysing and reporting on the audit, priority actions were included in a GreenIT action plan, in line with the ambitions to reduce the impact of the RATP Group's information system.

Impact & Result

Using the Greenoco platform, we were able to take stock of public platforms and extranets used by the Group's teams. Significant discrepancies were identified, corrective actions initiated, potentially reducing the environmental impact of these sites by up to 30%. The use of the tool also validated the eco-design model for RATP's new web platforms, with an impact reduced by more than 60%. Using the platform also reduces the time and costs required for these audits by more than 90%

Solution Spotlight

Digital technology currently consumes over 10% of global electricity and contributes to 6% of worldwide CO2 emissions. Greenoco provides a fast and straightforward way to assess the environmental impact of digital services, such as websites, and offers optimizations that can reduce this impact by an average of 30%—and in some cases, up to 70%. These improvements also enhance the technical performance and commercial effectiveness of the site.
