Procter & Gamble
Cincinnati
Since 2022, Procter & Gamble (P&G), headquartered in Cincinnati, United States, has embarked on an innovative journey to transform its supply chain logistics through the implementation of the AELER Smart Container solution. This collaboration with AELER underscores P&G's commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency. The AELER Smart Container, designed to revolutionize logistics with advanced technology, addresses several core challenges, including reducing carbon emissions and optimizing freight capacity. By integrating these smart containers, P&G has significantly enhanced its transport operations, achieving substantial reductions in fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This initiative not only bolsters P&G’s sustainability goals but also exemplifies the company’s leadership in adopting cutting-edge solutions to improve overall supply chain resilience and efficiency. The broader impact of this implementation extends beyond immediate operational gains, as it sets a benchmark for sustainable logistics practices within the industry, demonstrating how innovative technologies can drive meaningful change in corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship.
- Achieved a CO2 reduction of 240 kg per shipment, contributing to significant environmental benefits.
- Reduced single-use insulation material by 110 kg per shipment, promoting sustainability and reducing waste.
- Increased payload capacity by 12.5%, enhancing overall operational efficiency and reducing transportation costs.
With this solution, logistics stakeholders can reduce their risks and act proactively on events throughout the supply chain. The Smart Container reduces transportation costs while monitoring what is happening in real-time to the container itself and the cargo. It therefore provides real-time actionable information which increases the efficiency of the logistics process. A large suit of sensors are available which measure: temperature, humidity, pressure, GPS, altitude, impact, door opening, light and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Additionally, the Smart Container is insulated for the transport of sensitive goods.
