Agromačaj A.S.
Kráľová pri Senci
The use case of Agromačaj A.S. implementing the ARA ultra-high precision sprayer was driven by the need to improve efficiency, reduce chemical use, and enhance sustainability in large-scale farming. The company, managing over 12,000 hectares, sought a solution to reduce herbicide and fungicide application while maintaining crop health and increasing yields. They adopted the ARA sprayer after recognizing its precision in spraying and its ability to minimize chemical use. The sprayer was executed through a phased deployment, initially with two units, later expanding to three. Challenges like fine-tuning algorithms and weather conditions were addressed with Ecorobotix’s support. The ARA sprayer significantly reduced herbicide use by 86% and improved crop health, contributing to sustainability and meeting EU standards.
Environmentally, the ARA sprayer reduced herbicide use by 86%, saving 171.8 (estimated to be equivalent to 1.7 t CO2eq) liters of herbicide per hectare annually, contributing to healthier soils and fewer chemical residues.
One of Agromacaj's agronomists calculated cost reductions linked to pesticide reductions on a 90 hectares of onion field. Compared to conventional spraying, they were able to save 150.3 euros per hectare treated with ARA. Since this farm has over 550ha of onion fields this represents significant savings for on the farm level.
Ecorobotix develops, produces, and sells ARA, the ultra-high precision field sprayer reducing chemicals by up to 95%. It takes the form of a 6-meter wide trailer towed by a tractor across crop fields at a speed of 7kmph. Using 6 integrated cameras and a precise AI-driven algorithm, ARA is able to detect and recognize every individual plant. Using our software application sold with ARA, the user can choose what treatment to apply to the selected crop. A row of 156 nozzles then sprays each selected plant individually with ultra-high precision rates.
