HVO offers an innovative solution for recovering plastics using a low-temperature pyrolysis process.
HVO offers an innovative solution for local plastic recycling, using a low-temperature pyrolysis process (around 500°C). This process densifies the raw material, producing a high-energy liquid. Refining the liquid after pyrolysis extracts valuable products (ethylene, propylene and aromatics), which are the building blocks of the chemical industry (plastics, cosmetics, solvents, etc.). The remaining liquid can be used as a fuel (diesel and gasoline), known as "refuel". HVO technology makes it possible to process different plastics, which until now have been difficult to recycle, in the same pyrolysis process. Unlike current recovery solutions, which focus mainly on high temperatures and gas yields, our technology enables us to establish the most appropriate separation schemes to suit the local context.
