GKinetic is a leader in hydrokinetic energy, a clean and renewable energy source that uses the natural kinetic energy found in moving water to generate electricity. We have developed a unique range of turbines that can generate energy from low-flow water sources such as rivers, canals and estuaries. Operating in depths as low as 50 cm and minimum channel widths of 3 metres, our simple and affordable equipment delivers baseload power where it makes a difference. An ideal complement and/or alternative to solar, hydrokinetic turbines output consistently through the night and winter months, when you need it most. Our core product is a turnkey floating unit comprising; two vertical axis hydrokinetic turbines, fixed either side of a bluff body, with a floating platform above the water housing electrical equipment and generators. Moored in place like a boat, it self-aligns in tidal flows and can be moved easily. For larger projects multiple units can be deployed in arrays.
