What is the “Equivalence”?

Solar Impulse Foundation collaborates with the European Commission. As part of this, we have enabled an ‘equivalence’ between the Efficient Solution Label and the Commissions's prestigious grant program EIC Accelerator Phase II (former SME II).

  • What? This Equivalence recognizes that the requirements of the EIC Accelerator phase II program selection and the SIF Efficient Solution Label are partially equivalent to one another.

  • Why? EC and SIF join forces to provide extra value (visibility, credibility, and business development opportunities) to projects that were previously selected by the EC program over the past 5 years.

  • How? The three criteria (Excellence, Impact and Implementation) and seven sub-criteria of the EIC Accelerator phase II selection process have been “matched” with 4 out of 5 criteria of the SIF Label evaluation process.

As a result, only the Environmental Benefits criterion needs to be evaluated by Experts to have a final outcome for the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label.
