ECOSTERYL - Green high-tech solutions to decontaminate and recycle infectious medical waste by using only electricity

The Ecosteryl Solution is capable of decontaminating and recycling all sorts of infectious medical waste by using only electricity. The process starts with a powerful shredding of waste, including solids, plastics, pathological, sharps and metals, as well as liquids and any other elements considered as medical waste; which is then decontaminated thanks to the action of microwaves and electrical resistors; to finally obtain a dry by-product that can be recycled on account of an air injection separation and a laser optical sorting line. The system does not generate any polluting emissions (no discharge of water, fumes, chemicals, or gases), this way avoiding health risks indirectly created through the release of pathogens and toxic contaminants into the environment when using traditional technologies like the incineration. By eliminating the hazardous nature of waste, this solution will be essential to face epidemics such as the recent worldwide COVID-19, thus preventing potential public health and environmental crises.

Key features

  • Reduces the volume of medical waste up to 80% thanks to its powerful shredder process
  • Reduces the weight of the medical waste up to 10% thanks to its dry heat technology
  • Save 200 litres of water per decontaminated tonne of medical waste thanks to its dry heat technology
  • Saves 1 tonne of CO2 per decontaminated ton of medical waste thanks to its dry heat decontamination process

Profitability

  • The dry heat technology consumes around 66% less energy (only electricity) in comparison to mainstream autoclaving non-incineration alternative
  • The electromechanical machines maintenance is 70% cheaper (no water, no compression) than mainstream autoclave non-incineration alternatives
  • The dry heat technology enables to segregate 100% of the output for recycling and energy recovery
