ECCO2 Cumulus Sense - Predictive heating control saving up to 20% of energy consumption and CO2 emissions

Thanks to IOT technology old heatings are made smart and will be able to collect, analyse and exploit operational data in support of the portfolio-wide CO2-reduction goal. Through a gateway installed in the heating room, the intelligent algorithm is able to control the existing heating. Sensors in every apartment monitor this optimization in real-time. With the inclusion of meteorological forecasts, up to 20% of a buildings' emissions and energy consumption are reduced. Automated data analysis allows to better understand energy performances and to monitor and document the CO2-reduction remotely in real-time, and based on measurements. The system docks onto almost any type of existing heating, increasing the system's performance.

Key features

  • Reduces up to 20% energy consumption in heating compared to a conventional system
  • Measures CO2 load for monitoring air quality, as an indicator for potential viral loads in closed rooms
  • By simply reducing the average room temperature of a building by 1°C, up to 7% energy consumption is saved
  • Up to 20% reduction of CO2 emissions
  • Raises awareness in everyday's actions linked to cost savings and without loss of comfort

Profitability

  • 15-20% savings on heating energy cost
  • With an investment of 97CHF/a, up to 167 CHF/a savings per apartment while reducing CO2 emissions

Maturity Stage

  • Medium and large scale commercialization
  • Small scale commercialization
  • Initial market commercialization
  • Prototype testing in the real world
  • Prototype testing 1:1 in the lab
