The digital utility Polarstern is one of the leading companies in the field of decentralized energy solutions for Multi-Party-Buildings in Germany.
So-called "Mieterstrom" enables tenants in urban areas to get access to affordable, locally produced renewable energy.
Besides using electricity for direct household consumption and heating, it also provides a great potential for the mobility sector, such as charging batteries of electric vehicles. Especially for residential areas, the combination of charging stations with a battery storage can drastically increase the share of direct consumption.
This integrated concept offers advantages to tenants as well as additional attractiveness for future-oriented residential real estate developments. Furthermore it is a blueprint for future Energy markets.
