NKU Engineering Research Center for Castor(Registered in the Tianjin littoral FTA as“Tianjin Nankai University Castor Engineering Science and Technology Co.,Ltd.”),relying on Nankai University,united industry dominant enterprise,is an innovative entity closely integrated with "industry, University, research and application" according to the management measures of the National Center for Engineering Research. The center has made castor as a breakthrough for non grain energy crops for years. It has carried out the development and transformation of the green biomass industry chain technology. The center has been successively awarded National Joint Engineering Center,expert workstation of the national excellent academician,national high-tech enterprises,Tianjin innovation pilot enterprise,the top 100 scientific and technological enterprises in the Tianjin Free Trade Zone and so on. In 2016,the above results were listed as one of the 47 low carbon projects in the Asia Pacific region and launched at the first Asia Pacific Low Carbon Summit by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).In 2017,Bio-jet fuel has been rated as one of the 6 low carbon technologies in China by WWF (World-Wide Fund for Nature).In 2018," Promotion of Energy Saving & Emission Reducing Bio-based Green Lubricating Oil and the Construction of Biomass Industry Chain" won the 5th Paulson Prize for Sustainable Cities.
