We see the key to low-cost subsidized solar power in more efficient processes, loss reduction and low investment.
Our development to make solar energy affordable in the future is based on two core products:
1. We have developed a production line automation and processes that do not damage the surfaces of surface-sensitive solar cells of the latest generation (heterojunction, TopCON). This damage to conventional production equipment costs up to 1% efficiency in absolute terms.
2. we have developed a very robust recipe for highly efficient heterojunction cells (aSi passivation for +23%), which can be easily implemented on any PECVD system and thus simplifies the future process upgrade at the lowest investment.

There are two ways to make solar energy affordable: Develop more efficient processes and eliminate loss mechanisms. With GEMINI AUTOMATION, H2GEMINI has developed process automation, especially for surface-sensitive substrates. In contrast to traditional automation solutions in solar cell manufacturing, which generate substantial efficiency losses (up to 1%absolut) due to surface damages, GEMINI AUTOMATION does not attack the surface of the solar cell and, where required by the process, moves without any touching the surface. The manufacturing line concept, the linking of the processes, takes place in the inline process, which was already successfully implemented by the company founders in 2006-2012 in 1.5 GW solar cell production and corresponds to the current goal of the factory 4.0. Based on this cell manufacturing line design the production area will be reduced by more than 50%.
