Soil Hydrology research platform underpinning innovation to manage water scarcity in European and Chinese cropping systems” within action RIA (Research and Innovation action) and call H2020-SFS-2016-2017 (Sustainable Food Security – Resilient and resource-efficient value) started in September 2018. The project will have duration 4 years and there are all together 19 project partners (universities, research institutes and companies) from 10 European countries (11 partners) and China (8 partners). Main aim of the project is to examine possibilities of reaching sustainable agriculture under changing climatic condition in Europe and China. Main scope will be better understanding of water movement through soil profile and its availability for plants in spatially and temporally changing conditions. Based on gained knowledge to design system of best management practices for various climatic, soil and geographical conditions which will help farmers to keep sustainable production. The most modern methods as experimental data sets, advanced mathematical simulation models, methods of remote sensing and GIS implementation will be used to reach assigned goals.

Description
As part of the project, it will be biult and published practical decision support tools (DSS) for agricultural system.

Development and testing of practical decision support toools. Decision support tools (DSS) are based on pc and/or smart phone platforms delivered to end users. The products generated by the APPs are expected to include: - prescription maps for precision irrigation -trigger functions for sensor-based irrigation -land management/cultivation/tillage strategies and schedules recommendations for dryland systems The APPs will economic and enviromental calculations needed by stakeholders.
