APC Group SA

Although operating privately since 2002, Plantation Capital was officially established in 2008 in the UK, before incorporation in Sri Lanka in 2009 as Asia Plantation Capital, followed by Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The APC group now has a corporate presence, plantations and agricultural projects on four continents, with operational projects at various stages from start-up to fully operational plantations and farms. The group has operational projects at various stages in Cambodia, China, India, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, U.S. and Vietnam. Plantation Owner and Operator The Asia Plantation Capital group of companies (“APC Group” or “APC”) is the owner and operator of a diverse range of commercial plantation and farming businesses globally. The group has provided sustainable forestry and agricultural land acquisition and development services to the global forestry and agricultural sector for more than 10 years. According to the “Forest Financing” report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, opportunities in forestry, agricultural and plantation ownership have changed over the last decade, to become part of both large and small investors’ portfolios. There has also been a change in perception. Having previously been considered an alternative asset class, they have become more main stream, and are now an essential component of many institutional and pension growth funds. The group owns its own freehold and long-term leasehold plantations. Its wholly owned land portfolio is free from any bank debt, and has been purchased with the company’s own funds. Operationally Diverse APC has established, strategically, a diverse range of stand-alone businesses, among which are; the use of Oud oil from agarwood trees to produce fine perfumes for the international fragrance industry; the construction of sustainable homes; a plantation and agricultural consultancy, and tree nurseries for local communities to access. The distillery and associated businesses include state of the art finishing and processing production lines for agarwood oil and infused chips; incense sticks, and a range of raw materials for food supplements. These businesses are driven by one common factor; sustainable plantations and farms that create sustainable products for the rapidly expanding number of environmentally conscious consumers worldwide. Forestry and Management Services APC through its associated companies, APC Plantations (APCP) in Malaysia and Asia Plantation Capital Management (APCM) in Thailand, can provide forestry management services to clients that require it. They are one of the world’s fastest growing plantation management companies, leading the way in agarwood sapling cultivation, agarwood tree growth, pioneering inoculation methods, harvesting techniques, and agarwood distillation and product processing lines, while bringing important economic benefits to local communities. Starting in 2019, developing with the same vertical business integration approach, Coconuts plantations and the related consumer products. It is important to note that APC does not provide investment advice nor is authorised to do so, and recommends all parties considering entering into long term forestry and farming projects seek independent advice from reputable advisors. Corporate, Social Responsibility and Sustainability APC’s mission is to become the leading provider and operator of sustainably managed forestry and agricultural plantations – from project evaluation all the way through to specific plantation acquisition and development. We believe that corporate responsibility is not simply about securing profit for shareholders and clients, but also involves a positive contribution to society and the environment. With local people at the heart of our operations, and sustainable practices adopted throughout our agroforestry, we are a positive example of the ‘people, planet, profit’ concept that is inspiring modern, sound business practices today.
