Water scarcity is an increasingly pressing challenge. In many parts of the world, available freshwater resources are predicted to decrease overall due to the effects of climate change, while demand is predicted to rise. Research shows that behavior change must be part of the solution to reduce overall water demand.
Aguardio’s mission is simple – to reduce water and energy consumption by supporting, improving and developing sustainable behavior. Our solution aims to motivate people to reduce their time under the shower by at least one minute.
Why: each person will save more than 10 litres of hot water and save enough energy to run a 60-watt light bulb for 6 hours
Aguardio is a physical IoT device designed to guide/ motivate/ nudge people in a more sustainable direction. Installed in the bathroom, Aguardio facilitates changes in shower behaviour with the aim to reduce water and energy consumption. A combination of sensors and big data enable Aguardio to identify showers without being part of the installation.
Aguardio is much more than just a physical device- it’s a platform for changing social norms with a documented effect via third party academic research study done by the University of Surrey.
